ICCO is supported by the European Union (EU), one of the world’s biggest donors of humanitarian aid. Together, the 27 members of the EU have built a zone of stability, democracy and sustainable development whilst maintaining cultural diversity, tolerance and individual freedoms.Go back to Donors and Co-Financiers
The EU is a key player in international issues ranging from global warming to the conflict in the Middle East. The European Union is committed to sharing its achievements and its values with countries and peoples beyond its borders.
ICCO closely cooperates with EuropeAID and ECHO.
EuropeAid is responsible for designing European development policy and delivering aid throughout the world. They promote good governance, human and economic development and tackle universal issues, such as fighting hunger and preserving natural resources. ICCO receives funding through several programmes.
The European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) was created as an expression of European solidarity with people in need all around the world. In 2004 it became the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid, for a better coordination and disaster response inside and outside Europe. ICCO receives funding through ECHO since 1992.
