ICCO Presents G4AW Projects at Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production
ICCO and its local Indonesian partner Penabulu Foundation participated in the Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production 2018. This Roundtable is organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment & Forestry together with international organizations such as UN ESCAP, EU-SWITCH Asia and UNIDO.

At the event’s exhibition space, ICCO showcased its work through projects such as the Civic Engagement Alliance, SMARTseeds, SpiceUp and the FDOV High Premium Rice project. The event opened with remarks from the Minister of Forestry and Agriculture and the EU Ambassador for Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
There were several roundtable discussions where ICCO, represented by Fakhrur Razi (Country Manager for the SpiceUp project), was invited to present about ICCO’s involvement in G4AW (Geodata for Agriculture and Water) projects, specifically focusing on geodata for sustainable agriculture. In these G4AW projects, ICCO provides geodata based information services to smallholder farmers. In this way farmers can increase production, income, food security and reduce their inputs of water, fertilizer and pesticides. The information services are provided via an SMS service and Mobile App.
ICCO is currently the consortium lead for three G4AW programs in South East Asia – SMARTseeds (Indonesia), GREENcoffee (Vietnam) and ANGKOR Salad (Cambodia). Furthermore, ICCO participates in SpiceUP (Indonesia) and GEOPOTATO (Bangladesh).
G4AW is a program executed by the Netherlands Space Office, commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
