ICCO Bangladesh has recently signed an agreement with USAID’s Agricultural Value Chains Project (AVC) to introduce the Agribusiness Booster (AbB) concept in the Southern Delta of Bangladesh.

Agribusiness Booster launched in Bangladesh

AVC is a five-year project (2013 – 2018) funded by USAID under its Feed the Future initiative, and implemented by Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI), to improve the food security scenario in 20 districts by strengthening food value chains (potato, tomato, groundnut, mango, pulses and summer vegetables) and non-food value chains (floriculture and natural fibres).

By April 2018, this initiative aims to increase food security due to increased purchasing power and increased availability of food for 5,000 households per 10 successfully invested SMEs. This will be done through wages for employees in processing/servicing SMEs, increased sourcing capacity of SMEs, availability and access to better services (inputs, technical, financial) and increased availability and affordability of better food items.
