EVENT | Indigenous peoples present their solutions for climate change

• Indigenous peoples provide a quarter of global carbon storage in tropical forests; Without indigenous peoples, the climate targets of Paris are not met
• New scientific research: Forests managed by indigenous peoples are best protected
• Last year 80 indigenous leaders were killed because they wanted to protect their forest
• Indigenous peoples want to use their old knowledge and modern technology to protect forests and to stop climate change and demand access to climate funds

On the way to COP23 in Bonn, 20 representatives from indigenous peoples from the Amazon, Central America, Africa and Asia visit Europe, including The Netherlands. There are meetings with politicians in various European countries (eg in Brussels with European parliamentarians) and also in the Netherlands: Saturday afternoon, October 28, a coalition of Dutch NGOs organizes a political café with members of parliament and business representatives. We would like to invite you to this event. The indigenous delegation will tell their stories of hope and struggle and offer a petition to Dutch parliamentarians.
