COBOCE is a cooperative located in the region of Cochabamba that has a cement factory and through their Corporate Social Responsibility are involved with local communities near their facilities. This project is a collaborative effort with ICCO to support the economic empowerment of families in the municipalities closer to their facilities. This program allows to strengthen the partnership COBOCE-ICCO in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Background

The Bolivian Cooperative of Cement, Industries and Services COBOCE LTDA was founded on December 4th, 1966. Its corporate mission is summarized in generating decent jobs, equitable distribution of wealth, and development of socio-economic units with cooperative principles that contribute to the development of the region and country. Since its creation, COBOCE is undertaking profitable projects that generate value in the Bolivian economy. They provide stability and opportunity for improvement and growth for its workers, fulfilling all its obligations to its partners.

COBOCE was born as a cement company and over time it has diversified its activities, having currently seven production units and two associated companies.

COBOCE Ltda., by its very cooperative essence, has been designed based on solidarity and cooperation; since the beginning, it has worked to contribute to the development of fair and equitable conditions in Cochabamba and the country. Today, by implementing their social responsibility program, they look as good neighbors to strengthen relationships with the community and positively impact the region where they were born: Capinota.
