EU AID Volunteers - ACT2Aid Volunteers for East Africa - is a project within the framework of the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative. The project is implemented by a consortium of ICCO (as lead) and Finn Church Aid (FCA) and 8 Host organisations. In total 26 volunteers will be deployed to Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. 17 volunteers will be deployed by ICCO and 9 volunteers by FCA.

The EU Aid Volunteers initiative aims at contributing to more effective (EU provided) humanitarian response, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and resilience in three countries (Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya) through strengthening local NGOs and vulnerable and disaster prone communities members. EU Aid Volunteers brings together volunteers and organisations from different countries, providing practical support to humanitarian aid projects and contributing to strengthening the local capacity and resilience of disaster-affected communities

The project has 3 specific objectives:
Specific objective 1: Deployment of volunteers to southern hosting organizations that actively work in the humanitarian field in Uganda, Ethiopia or Kenya.
Specific objective 2: Strengthened capacities of southern organizations working in the field of humanitarian response, DRR and resilience.
Specific objective 3: Increased visibility and profile of the EU Aid Volunteers initiative results and the work of the organizations involved.

As of 1st January 2021 ICCO has joined forces with Cordaid and continues as one organization under the name Cordaid.
