Accelerating the Myanmar Mung bean Value Chain

KMSS (Yangon) is going to extend the Research Based Evidence against Myanmar Agriculture Development Strategy (MADS). KMSS (Yangon) is going to focus on Key Issue of ADS where it is discussed about Market Opportunity and Small Enterprise Development of farmers.
By reflecting the experiences of KMSS (Yangon) for implementing Sustainable Livelihood Projects for ten years, we observed that, it is very important to consider the fair market opportunities for farmers especially small holder farmers. Nowadays, farmers interest and concerns are shifted to market and land tenure/registration rather than trainings for good yield, production and processing.
For small holder farmers, even local market cannot provide fair opportunities for them. Since KMSS (Yangon) involved in pre consultation workshops and consultation workshops of ADS, the employees realized that 2017 Regional Farmers Conference should contribute ADS for ensuring farmers rights in term of market and business development.
In addition, we recognize the importance of giving special attention to the specific needs and concerns of marginalized groups in our target communities. Although we do not yet fully know the specific needs and concerns of women, youth, and people with disabilities living in our target communities, we plan to work together with these groups to uncover these needs and concerns, and to ensure that all voices are heard in our lobby and advocacy efforts.
