Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC) is a form of child abuse and violence affecting to 35,000 children and adolescents in Colombia. Despite advances in legislation and to have a national strategy, the trafficking in women and girls for sexual purposes in Colombia remains a major problem.

The project will be developed in the cities of Bogota, Cartagena and the Amazon region (Border Colombia, Brazil and Peru), their actions are aimed at influencing public policies on prevention and comprehensive care for victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Its main activities are: identification of children, counseling and referrals for specialty care programs and awareness in the community to mobilize them as prevention and protection agents.

The project hopes to create a network in the communities of Cartagena, for the prevention of this crime. Also mobilize non-governmental and governmental organizations, civil society and private enterprise to recognize the problems (in municipalities and regions borders where they operate tourism projects, mining and/or extraction activities) and subsequently generate an action plan and local strategies in the fight against this crime. Therefore it is proposed a joint work spaces at a municipal level and create a space to share best practices and to guide the construction of strategies for the prevention and eradication of this crime in the country.
