This project will be carried out in the municipalities of San Cristobal Verapaz and Santa Cruz Verapaz, both in the department of Alta Verapaz. This department was one of the hardest-hit by the internal armed conflict. In this project the Fundación Myrna Mack will carry out activities with ACJ Guatemala, thus taking advantage of each organization's area of expertise.

The Myrna Mack Foundation has experience in the region in the promotion of Human Rights oriented towards the construction of citizenship and consolidation of the rule of law, a work that the FMM historically has promoted in Alta Verapaz and that has allowed to generate the necessary conditions to develop preventive interventions. The processes developed in Cobán have consisted in the technical and methodological accompaniment to a diversity of counterparts, such as the Executive Committees for Justice, the Ak'yu'am Care Center, Social Pastoral, women's groups or committees, municipal women's commissions, Human Rights and Security Commissions, Departmental Education Directorate, National Civil Police, Peace Courts and specialized in the care of women victims of violence, INACIF, Public Prosecutor's Office, Prevention Committee of the Sexual violence. Thesee organizations coincide in lines of action aimed at preventing violence, but especially around the integral attention of women victims of violence, their access to security and justice, which contributes to the development of the Department .
