The project proposal was implemented in Puerto Cabezas-Bilwi, where TESIS focused their actions in three communities: Barrio Waulalaya, Barrio Rosario Murillo and Barrio Caminante. The project aims to contribute to strengthen indigenous and afrodescendant adolescents and youth social leadership in Bilwi. TESIS will implement an integral approach including collective knowledge-sharing actions, capacity building, and advocating with other civil society organizations and local government.

TESIS has been a long-time partner to ICCO implementing projects to prevent violence among youth in high-risk communities in Managua. In 2015, TESIS finished implementing a project from a regional strategy in Latin America (Stepping Up, stepping Out or SUSO) to prevent violence towards sex workers and providing them with options to ‘step-up’ for their rights and/or to ´step out´ from sex work. During 2015, TESIS implemented a community intervention to prevent violence, including gender-based violence, involving family and community structures in a capacity building process, replicas and the involvement of men to analyse new ethical expressions of masculinities.
