Targeted Food Assistance to Myanmar Refugees in Thailand

Start project:
  • 2015

ICCO co-funds the program 'Targeted Food Assistance to Myanmar Refugees in Thailand'. During 2014 an increased number of the camp population, including youth, were involved in livelihood activities with the dual aim of coping with the reduction of food rations and preparing for potential return. This project supports TBCs general program activities, related to food and nutrition, shelter, and camp-management in the refugee camps in Thailand and to support camps for internally displaced people.

The Border Consortium (TBC), a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian relief and development agen-cy, is a consortium of ten INGOs from eight different countries, working together with displaced people of Burma/Myanmar, to respond to humanitarian needs, strengthen self-reliance and promote appropriate and lasting solutions in pursuit of dignity, justice and peace for over 30 years, refugees from Myanmar have been confined to the nine official camps along the Thai-land-Myanmar border. TBC continues to develop programmes and activities in both Thailand and Burma/Myanmar.

As of 1st January 2021 ICCO has joined forces with Cordaid and continues as one organization under the name Cordaid.
