Adolescents and young people from the Northern Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua develop technical and practical skills to implement entrepreneurship initiatives. This project is part of a broad program developed in Nicaragua and Guatemala to promote opportunities for Indigenous and Afrodescendant Youths, with the financial support of Kerk in Actie (KIA).

Understanding entrepreneurship as a process to identify, develop and give life to a vision that can be a novel idea, a better way of doing things, or simply an opportunity which results in the creation of a company, this project contributes to the appropriation of adolescents and young people on their human rights in general, and their economic rights in particular; rescuing the importance of pedagogy for autonomy, which implies a work process that supports the path to personal, social and economic autonomy.

Besides training and technical accompaniment for the implementation of entrepreneurship initiatives, the project promotes public information, awareness activities and rights of the young population in Bilwi, to contribute to their empowerment.

The project is developed by the Latin American Network of Afro Caribbean and Afrodescendant women (ARMAAD, for its acronym in Spanish), a regional organization with deep roots on both the Northern and Southern Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
